Tonga Village Tours

Tongan Villages are traditional in social make-up but not so in ascetics. Most houses are made of cement blocks with tin roofing iron but there are also quite a few large double storey houses made of fine brick and tiles. However, the largest and most elaborate buildings in any village is the Church, of which there are often more than one for each denomination.

A typical village sight is seeing pigs wander around at will, and being chased out of houses. Whilst you are free to walk around villages there are no official village homestay programs in Tonga. The most picturesque villages are found on the islands of the Ha'apai Group.
