The myriad of limestone and coral islands, deep passages and sheltered bays that make up the Vavau Islands are best explored on water. There are several day cruises, either on a fishing boat with a local skipper or on a more elegant sailing cruise. You can even charter your own speedboat to explore the islands at will. The islands are fairly compact and you should get to see most of the attractions in a two separate full day tours - one going south and one going west from Neiafu.
